Just Another Day In The Office, Right?

Busy, fun, exciting, anticipation…all very appropriate words that sum up today’s announcement of a 2-year Player Development Contract between the Cougars and Chicago Cubs. The joint announcement between our staff and Cubs staff was made shortly before 2 p.m., and ever since, it’s been a tidal wave of phone calls, emails, social media posts, news stories, and much more. We’ve received a warm welcome from the Cubs family, including emails and well wishes from several of their other affiliates, including Triple-A Iowa and Double-A Tennessee.

Among the fans, the overall sentiment has been great. So much excitement. Impossible to keep up with our Twitter feed! That’s good. We’re excited, too. Opening Day will be a special night at the park and there’s no doubt that the anticipation will continue to build and build between today and April 4. We’ve been hard at work, and will continue to do so, to make the 2013 season full of family-friendly fun and the best entertainment you’ll find in Chicagoland.

Numerous calls and inquiries on Cougars season tickets and ticket packages. We have our ’13 schedule and ticket information by clicking HERE. Our ticket office will be open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and our box office staff would be more than happy to go over some options with you. It’s going to be a fun year to be part of the Cougars season ticket and ticket package family.

It’s also important to recognize our 2-year run with the Kansas City Royals. I’m speaking for numerous Cougars staff when I say that everyone we  came into contact these last 2 years were the epitome of professionalism. A special thanks goes to Scott Sharp, J.J. Picollo, and the field staffs we worked with in 2011 and ’12 – particularly managers Vance Wilson and Buck Buchanan. Same goes for all of the players who represented the Cougars and Royals these last 2 years.
