Halfway to Halloween

Tonight at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark, the Kane County Cougars will finish a three-game series with the Clinton LumberKings on Halfway to Halloween Night. It’s the first of back-to-back nights in Geneva, where the Cougars will open their doors to trick-or-treaters and costumed ghouls from all over the Chicagoland area.

As for the ballclub, they have been playing well with three consecutive victories and a record back to .500 for the first time since April 25. There have been a number of roster moves lately.

RHP Santiago Garrido was called up to High-A Wilmington while catcher Kenny Swab was sent down to Kane County. 1B Henry Moreno went back to Extended Spring Training while the Cougars also picked up 1B Dean Espy from Arizona.

Here’s tonight’s lineup from manager Brian Buchanan:

Justin Trapp 2B
Danny Mateo DH
Jorge Bonifacio RF
Lane Adams CF
Michael Antonio 3B
Orlando Calixte SS
Murray Watts 1B
Edul Escobar C
Tim Ferguson LF
RHP Aaron Brooks

Last night’s victory was a dramatic one for the Cougars. Orlando Calixte drilled a grand slam to bring the Cougars back from a 3-1 deficit in the 8th inning.

Tonight’s broadcast will be on AM 1280 WBIG, beginning at 6:15 p.m. The Cougars are home through Tuesday. For tickets, call (630) 232-8811 or visit http://www.kccougars.com. Fireworks tonight and tomorrow!
