A rainy morning at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan has pushed back the start time of today’s contest between the Cougars and Great Lakes Loons. First pitch will now be at 11:40 a.m., two hours after the initial scheduled start time.
It’s the finale of a three-game series and six-game road trip for the Cougars which has not produced many runs or wins. The Cougars have scored just eight times on the trip while picking up just one victory.
With 22 hits in 147 at-bats on the trip, the Cougars are only batting .150. They’ve managed just three extra-base hits and zero home runs. They have also not had more than six hits in any contest during the trip. With an off day tomorrow, the Cougars are hoping to re-energize what was the top hitting offense in the Midwest League.
Here’s today’s lineup from manager Brian Buchanan:
Justin Trapp 2B
Danny Mateo 3B
Jorge Bonifacio RF
Lane Adams CF
Orlando Calixte SS
Murray Watts DH
Henry Moreno 1B
