After dropping two of three in their first home series of the season at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark to the Beloit Snappers, the Cougars begin a four-game road series tonight against the Burlington Bees at Community Field.
First of all, check out this hotel. The Cougars are staying at Pzazz! http://www.catfishbendcasino.com/ It’s pretty incredible. Comes complete with a bowling alley, go-karts, an indoor and outdoor water park and the casino itself. Quite the resort here in Burlington.
Here’s today’s lineup from skipper Brian Buchanan:
Alex Llanos CF
Danny Mateo 3B
Jorge Bonifacio RF
Lane Adams LF
Orlando Calixte SS
Justin Trapp 2B
Murray Watts DH
Henry Moreno 1B
Jin-Ho Shin C
RHP Edwin Carl
Carl is making his second start of the season. Last Friday, he worked 3.1 innings at Quad Cities which was the first start of his professional career. He allowed just one earned run on four hits but suffered the loss.
Some early notes from Cougarville: Justin Trapp has had a hit in each game so far this season. Jorge Bonifacio is batting .476 with 10 hits in 21 at-bats. He has five multi-hit games in the first six. The Cougars have not won or lost in back-to-back games yet this season. They’ll try to keep that streak alive tonight after losing to the Snappers yesterday in a 3-2 contest.
As always, you can hear tonight’s game on AM 1280 WBIG and http://www.kccougars.com. Cougars on Deck begins at 6:15. First pitch at 6:30 from Community Field.
